Self-Amalgamating Self-Vulcanizing Self-Fusing "Cold Shrink" Magic Tape
Two types of tape are considered Self-Amalgamating, Self-Vulcanizing, Self-Fusing or "cold shrink" magic tape: Silicone Rubber and Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR).
These tapes are used in a variety of applications, commonly to seal electrical connections and hose protection sleeves, and also to fabricate custom sized bushings on clamps and connector backshells.
Silicone rubber tapes have a higher operational temperature range than EPR tapes.
